Terry and Julie have a beautiful home in a well established and charming neighborhood of Longmont. They’ve raised a wonderful family there and are preparing for the next phase of life through the addition of a new bedroom/bathroom suite that will host long term guests. It was critical to have good access for this space as the inhabitants are like to have limited mobility. Function took precedence over form on this one, but the architecture and finishes were a perfect fit to tie together the new and the old. The entire team did a marvelous job of blending the old with the new and created a seamless addition. In the end, we helped them create a one of a kind addition that included the following amenities: 
​

• A new ground level bedroom suite with its own bathroom, large, walk-in closet, and direct access to the garage, back patio, and the main portion of the house.
• A reworked 3 car garage that truly allows parking for 3 cars
• Upgraded electrical service to the house
• A new concrete driveway and sidewalks
• Several miscellaneous fixes and updates to other areas of the existing home

Our team had a great time working with Terry and Julie and we're proud to be part of a project that will keep this family close for years to come! 

Lisa and Paul love where they live.  I mean who wouldn't?  They have a little space and room for their pony and goats whom our kids delighted in during this project.  Our kids also delighted in the endless supply of Pringles and LaCroix left by Lisa.  We really are lucky to work for such lovely people!  

​Lisa and Paul want to stay put.  And they also wanted an updated space.  And boy, did they ever get one, including:

• a new master suite including a brand new master bath with steam shower and freestanding tub
• a new master closet
• a new hall bath
• a new powder room
• new carpet, refinished hardwoods and newly tiled entryways
• new paint throughout
• new interior doors and trim throughout
• new exterior doors
• new baluster
• a new fireplace and fireplace surround and mantle
• and even some new windows

This was a huge project.  Paul and Lisa were troopers through COVID and all.  We are grateful for them and hope that we can come back and visit the animals someday soon!

It has been such a delight to work with Gina and Ryun.  Gina is a mover and shaker in our community.  She works hard to serve many, many people and we are so happy to be able to give her a space of her own to retreat and relax.

​This project was also a fun one for us because it is one of the first with our new cabinetry line and it's one of our first that we were able to see through from design to completion with our new designer, Lori!  She did beautiful work here.

North Boulde,r or "NoBo" as it's affectionately referred to by locals, is a trendy new development with fun shops, lots of condos and easy access to the foothills.  Dave reached out to us to remodel his condo's master bath.  He brought creative ideas to the table that make this a unique space including a sleek tile layout and custom vanity, shelf and privacy wall.  The dark floor, bright walls and warm wood make it a spa-like space that turned out just lovely!  Thanks for trusting us with your project, Dave!  We hope you enjoy it for years and years to come! 

Scott & Elisse are so sweet!  They've been some of the most laid back clients we've ever had and they picked such fun, vibrant colors in their bathroom.  The wall-covering is super fun and ties in to the blue accent tile shower wall perfectly.  It's been awesome working with them and we hope they enjoy their bathroom for years and years to come!

Bradburn is a community in Westminster that's new, but still charming.  With an intentionally small-town feel in the middle of 'burbs, it's got a hopping little city center with yummy restaurants, shops, row homes and offices. Bradburn is also the location of our latest kitchen, powder room & mantel remodel for Deana & Stew. I keep saying it over and over again, but we seriously work for the best people (we are picky like that!).  

Deana was constantly sending home cookies and other treats for us and told Tom he could have free reign in her pantry as long as he let her know what she needed to replace. :) She and Stew have been a joy to work with and so supportive of our ever growing family...oh yeah, we also had twins during their project.  A lot has been going on around here!  Amiright? 

This kitchen turned out just brilliantly.  I mean, it practically glimmers with its bright and inviting quartz countertops, white and gray cabinetry, Dacor stainless steel appliances and custom made barn door, cafe door, island, floating shelves, butler's pantry and more.

The redesign also included a new single french door, updated powder room, refinished walnut floors and an updated mantle.  

The end results are something we are really proud of and hope Deana and Stew enjoy it for years and years to come!  We are grateful for the opportunity to put it together for them! 

Friends!

This project was so fun to watch.  The transformation was, well, incredible.  Before you look at the pictures in this post, I want you to close your eyes and imagine this basement in its before state - envision a dark basement with cement and paneled walls and no egress window.  It was the kind of basement you hope you don't get attacked by spiders in when braving it to do your laundry.  

Now, it is so lovely.  With the addition of a bedroom/sitting room and bathroom, Scott and Isidora will have a lovely guest suite for visiting family and friends. The added egress window brings in a ton of light and adds safety in case of an emergency. We reused the original doors, deep sink and Scott refinished the original windows so it retains it's 1920's charm while getting 2019 worthy upgrade of comfort and warmth (think beautiful barn doors!).

We are so pleased with how this project turned out and are grateful to know Scott and Isidora.  With every project, we feel like our little construction family grows and by the end of them can't imagine not knowing the friends we've made after spending so much time in their homes.  

Scott and Isidora have been a true pleasure to work with and were insistent on celebrating along the way with after work beers with Tom and some fancy pants whiskey after final inspection!

One of the things I love the most about doing renovation work is seeing the personal tastes of our clients come through in the final product. This bathroom is so pretty with its board and batten, beveled tile, barn door and freestanding tub. I just love it! 

Water damage...it's never fun.  But this bathroom remodel illustrates that something so un-fun can turn into something beautiful with it's fixed up the right way!  

Not only is the leak that was causing water damage to the original bathroom gone, but in its place is a bright space that makes a person smile just by walking in!  This master bathroom is stunning.  From the tile in the shower to the vanity to the fixtures it turned out just awesome.  

Tons of natural light adds to the brightness and the colors of the vanity and tile compliment each other so nicely.  The brushed nickel fixtures pop against the dark wood vanity.  We couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out!  

Michele and Bob - we truly loved working with you and hope you enjoy your beautiful new bathroom for years and years to come!!  

This bathroom turned out so lovely.  It's in a neighborhood of brick homes in Arvada full of neighbors who have been there forever.  It's darling!  One of the neighbors even brought Tom the best pie he's ever tasted.  He just walked right in the house and delivered the pie.  How fun is that?!?  We really enjoyed working on this project to renovate this bathroom.  We moved the toilet over 6 inches to make the shower larger and make better use of the space.  I love the tile choices and how the bathroom is bright and lovely.  The window makes the room so happy.  We hope Jim enjoys it for years to come!

I can't even begin to explain how much we loved working on this project.  The clients were so great!  We had so much fun getting to know them and the space turned out just beautiful!  I have complete laundry room envy now.  That's the danger of being married to a contractor!  Every project he does makes me want to do something to our house.  :) 

This remodel included a:

• Custom shower - oh my goodness, look at that amazing tile!
• Use of butcher block countertops for the laundry counter and the sink countertop - it's really warms up the space!
• Two barn doors. They are so fun!
• The addition of a window in the shower.  It really brightens up the space!
• Tile floors
• Washer and dryer relocation & built in framing
• A complete overhaul of the plumbing and electrical to open up the space (there were pipes going through the middle of the room before!) and fix what the previous DIY owner had done to the electrical.  There were some strange things hidden in the walls in that regard, but our electrician fixed them right up!

The husband of the house is from Sweden and his parents come for long visits.  Now they have a lovely bathroom to enjoy while they are in Broomfield!  Maybe they will even want to help with the laundry!  

Earlier this year we had the privilege of being referred to a family who has three growing girls and basement that needed some love so they could call it "home".  It was so much fun to watch as this outdated basement turned into a perfect space for two of these lovely ladies, complete with:

• A giant mirror to practice their budding ballet skills 
• The addition of a second bedroom
• Custom shower and tile flooring in the bathroom
• A bathroom layout that provides privacy for the shower and toilet area and a double vanity
• A jack and jill style walk in closet for all their fun clothes
• LVT flooring throughout the bedrooms/main area
• New egress windows to keep them safe and sound and to add more light to the space
• New canned lighting complete with motion sensors
  
• And more that I'm sure I'm forgetting! 

It was quite the transformation and we hope they enjoy their new space for years and years to come!

Hi there, friends!  

We would love to know how you are getting along.  How were your holidays?  What New Year's resolutions did you make and break?  What else is going on?

We have been super busy in the Bunn household - mostly because we welcomed Annabelle Therese to the family on December 26th.  Luckily she held out until after Christmas, but unfortunately for her, she will forever be a holiday season birthday girl.  Oh well.  We think she's about the best gift we could have ever received!  She's very sweet and even lets me sleep sometimes!

Tom has also been working hard on several bathroom remodels.  Here are a couple pictures just for fun!  Wishing you all a wonderful 2017!

I just want to say "hi there!!"  It's been a while...I've been getting bigger and bigger and more and more tired as the third trimester of this pregnancy slogs on, so the blogging has just taken a back seat to - well - sleep, I guess.  I'm napping as much as possible before baby #2 makes her appearance any day now.  :)  

Tom has been up to some really fun stuff in the last couple months that I want to make sure everyone knows about though.  On a scale of fun to super fun, he's done a deck tear out, is in the process of two bathroom remodels, created a custom "book nook" and made his wife a new table out of two pieces of maple wood that literally looked like the tree they were cut from before their miraculous transformation.  He's also done several smaller handyman jobs including fixing lots of leaky plumbing, and fixed lots of stuff for rental property owners.

It's always a joy to watch him create something out of nothing.  In fact, that's what he loves to do.  His spread-sheet-filled, 45-minute communte each way, soul sucking desk job left him so tired and unhappy at the end of most days. Now almost all his jobs are right here in Broomfield and comes home - after working super hard I might add - with lots of energy and joy.  He really loves his new gig and so do I because it's a lot more fun to have a happy husband than an crabby one.  

​The transition to small business ownership has been a wild ride, but it's been a good ride and we are so grateful for our clients and all the projects they welcomed us into their homes to complete in 2016.

Tom is going to take a couple weeks off in January to help me with the babe, but we look forward to many more great things in 2017!  

We are so grateful Frank & Marilyn found us on www.nextdoor.com.  They live just a few minutes away, and we have decided that even after Tom is done with their projects that we would like them to be adopted grandparents to sweet Pete and baby girl.  One of the most unexpected and fun parts of Tom's new career has been meeting such great people!  We feel honored to work for them!  Their first project was the remodel of their guest bathroom.  We picked out a grey, white and light blue color scheme with brushed nickel fixtures and it all came together beautifully!  Thank you Frank & Marilyn and we look forward to the rest of your projects!
