Terry and Julie have a beautiful home in a well established and charming neighborhood of Longmont. They’ve raised a wonderful family there and are preparing for the next phase of life through the addition of a new bedroom/bathroom suite that will host long term guests. It was critical to have good access for this space as the inhabitants are like to have limited mobility. Function took precedence over form on this one, but the architecture and finishes were a perfect fit to tie together the new and the old. The entire team did a marvelous job of blending the old with the new and created a seamless addition. In the end, we helped them create a one of a kind addition that included the following amenities: 
​

• A new ground level bedroom suite with its own bathroom, large, walk-in closet, and direct access to the garage, back patio, and the main portion of the house.
• A reworked 3 car garage that truly allows parking for 3 cars
• Upgraded electrical service to the house
• A new concrete driveway and sidewalks
• Several miscellaneous fixes and updates to other areas of the existing home

Our team had a great time working with Terry and Julie and we're proud to be part of a project that will keep this family close for years to come! 

This project was near and dear to our hearts, because, well, it was ours.  The 1400 square foot tri-level that had been so beloved by our family of 6 was starting to feel a bit cramped.  We loved our neighborhood, so we naturally decided to move four blocks down the road to a bigger home that was a complete fixer.  Some things we fixed were fun to improve - like getting a lovely new kitchen, others were not so fun like mud jacking the front porch and taking two dump truck loads of garbage from the back yard.  :) In the end, it was all worth it and we are grateful for our new space with room to build big train tracks and magna tile creations.
 
It was also so impressive to watch our team turn this property into something beautiful.  Things came together so well, and after all was said and done, we ended up with:

- A brand new kitchen that has a big enough island to seat our whole family. This involved removal of a structural wall and installation of a sizable steel beam to support the second level.
- A beautiful guest bedroom/home office.
- A walk in pantry with a barn door.
- A homeschool closet that is an absolute dream come true for me and the kids.
- White oak hardwoods throughout the main floor.
- Laundry on the first floor along with a 3/4 bath that is functional and pretty.
- New electrical (including replacement of ALL the circuits in the house and a panel upgrade) and plumbing on the main and 2nd floors.
- New underground plumbing.
- A new backyard and patio.
 
It was a huge project, but we couldn’t be happier with our new space or with how hard our team of employees and trade partners worked to make it a success.

Susan has lived in her Louisville home for over 20 years and loves it for her lifestyle, but time had taken its toll on the interior finishes. She made the decision to do a major remodel and update the whole place and we’re so glad she chose Bunn and Sons to help her with the project! We gutted almost the entire house and made some significant changes to the layout in several key spaces. It was a major undertaking and a big investment, but Susan (and Leo!) now have a completely renovated home that will bring them enjoyment for years to come. Our clients are truly remarkable, and Susan is no exception to that. The fires that ravaged Louisville last year came very close to this neighborhood, so we were thankful it was spared! It’s been a pleasure for our team to serve Susan and we wish her years of happiness in her new space! Highlights of the project include: 

• A completely new kitchen which takes advantage of an open floor plan and lots of natural light thanks to the removal of a wall. We also removed a large built-in bookcase which created an open space all the way from the front door to the rear of the kitchen. Lot’s of room to roam!
• Rebuilt the staircase between the upper level and the main level. We not only outfitted this staircase with an awesome modern look, but we also re-worked the layout of the stairs to be more functional with the rest of the main level layout. We also installed new handrails and balusters on the other staircases in the house to match the new modern look of the main staircase. 
• Installed new flooring throughout the entire main level and upper level of the house. This was a combination of tile, LVT, carpet, and hardwood. 
• Completely updated the main level powder room. 
• Rebuilt the living room fireplace with an electric unit to replace the old gas burning unit. Installed a new stone veneer for the new fireplace surround. 
• Completely updated the laundry room with new cabinetry, countertops, appliances and all finishes. 
• Completely re-worked the master bathroom. We created a new layout which now includes a free-standing tub, a frameless glass shower enclosure, new cabinetry and countertops, and lots of custom tile work. 
• New trim and paint throughout the entire house. 
• Installed a couple new doors at the garage and garden level patio. 

Chris and Kristine came to us with a vision of renovating a ton of spaces in their home. They had been in the house for a number of years and while the previous owners had done some updates, they wanted to change things a bit and make it more their own. Our team helped them rethink and rebuild four bathrooms (including the master), a laundry room, a staircase, upstairs flooring, and a number of smaller items throughout the house. We couldn’t have asked for better clients and they made awesome decisions when it came time for selecting materials. Their input was also crucial with regard to layout, function, and feel of the spaces. We enjoyed working with them so much and getting to know their family during this process. We know that these new spaces will serve their needs for years to come and we’d work with them again at the drop of a hat! Enjoy your new spaces, guys! 
 
Here’s a quick rundown of the spaces we renovated:

• A master bathroom including a new frameless glass shower, free standing bathtub, completely new vanity layout, and all new lighting, tile, countertops, paint, and plumbing fixtures. 
• 2 upstairs kids bathrooms to include all new cabinetry, fixtures, tile, paint, countertops, and more
• 1 downstairs bathroom to include all new cabinetry, fixtures (minus a tub), countertops, and more
• A new laundry room with and updated layout and new cabinetry, countertops, paint, tile, and fixtures
• A new metal and wood baluster rail for the main staircase and the 2nd level overlooks.
• All new white oak hardwood flooring throughout most of the 2nd level and on the main staircase
• Several spots of repair and retrimming throughout the master bedroom and several other spots in the house

​Deb and Arn live in a beautiful home in one of the most picturesque areas of Boulder. Unfortunately, one of the things they inherited when buying this lovely home was a long standing, but undiscovered, water leak in an exterior wall. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the water damage had rotted several structural members in a load bearing wall and was causing major problems with the stone veneer on several adjacent walls. Given that we also discovered some sub-par construction techniques used in that portion of the house, they made the decision to expand demolition and discover all the potential damage. In the end we conducted structural repairs, installed new windows, installed new water management systems, installed a large portion of stone veneer, and to cap it off reapplied stucco to the entire home. Along the way, these great clients turned into great friends. We love how this one turned out and it was a wonderful opportunity for Bunn and Sons to complete exterior work that we don’t come across every day. We also love that Deb invites us and the kids back every year to pick apples! 
 
Scope of work included:
-Demolition and discovery of water damage on 3 exterior walls. Removal of all stone veneer and architectural components was necessary for this.
-Replacement and repair of structural framing.
-Replacement of large, custom windows on the South wall.
-Installation of a proper water management system under the stone veneer on the South, West, and East walls. 
-Sourcing and installing new stone veneer to match the existing finishes on the rest of the home. (Luckily a quarry in MI had a few pallets of the stone on a back lot!)
-Applying new stucco to all existing stucco surfaces on exterior walls.
-Interior trim and paint as necessary in the space affected by water damage.

Teddy and Bridget have a wonderful home and a great family. They’ve done a couple large projects in the last several years, but the kitchen and some other areas of the main level were still in need of a makeover. With lots of great client input, we came up with a new kitchen layout that increased the size and usability of their island while keeping the overall footprint of the kitchen similar to original construction. This meant we didn't need to implement structural modifications to the house and was a big help to the budget. Now they enjoy a large island along with the rest of their new space. Our team really enjoyed working with Teddy and Bridget and we hope their family can make memories in this space for decades to come!
 
Updates include:
-A completely new kitchen including frameless cabinetry, quartz countertops, appliances, plumbing and lighting fixtures, and a really neat range hood
-Updated island configuration to create much more usable island top space
-In cabinet as well as under cabinet lighting for a very elegant lighting solution
-Refinished hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen and main level (approximately 1400 square feet)
-New balusters and handrails on main level and second level hallway above the kitchen
-New paint on walls and trim in several areas on the main level

Greg and Inez have a charming home in an older part of Boulder, situated on a large lot but with bathrooms that needed some major TLC. With three growing kids, it was essential that we provide upgrades that make their space beautiful AND functional. We worked within their budget and space constraints to demo the old spaces and create a new master bath for them and a new hall bath for the kids. We had to address numerous issues created by the former owner's DIY remodel including, rotted framing, subfloor, and poorly routed plumbing. We incorporated several small (but key) changes to increase the usability (especially the hall bath) and the new construction created fresh and durable spaces that should provide years of trouble-free service for their family.

Updates Include:
-A new master suite including cabinetry, counters, flooring, stand up shower, and a new master closet
-A new hall bath including cabinetry, counters, flooring, and a new shower/tub combo
-New paint throughout
-New interior doors and trim throughout

​Eric and Nora are Florida and Georgia natives who came to us looking to build a sunroom where they could enjoy the Colorado sunshine. After weighing the pro’s and con’s of a sunroom, they opted to add a proper stick built addition that allowed them to utilize the space for relaxing and working from home. We helped them develop the entire project to include architecture, engineering, and permitting with the local jurisdiction. They now have a properly built addition which added about 200 square feet of habitable living space. We really enjoyed helping them transform their home to better suit their needs. We also got the opportunity to integrate a nice dog door for their pets which will make trips to the yard so much easier for everyone! Thanks Eric and Nora for trusting us with your project, we hope you enjoy it for many years to come! 

Scope of work included: 
-Demolition of existing patio slab and cover
-Earthwork and grading for new foundation
-Ground up build of new foundation and structure
-Exterior finishes to include siding and roofing to match existing

Aaron and Amanda may be the most patient clients we have worked with to date! They decided to remodel their Kitchen way back in early 2020 when no one could have predicted that a pandemic would lead their family to working and schooling from home for the following year. They requested to hit the pause button temporarily, but we are happy that they are finally enjoying their gorgeous new Kitchen!
 
Updates include:
-Opening up their main floor by removing a wall between the kitchen and living room
-New cabinetry, countertops and backsplash
-New appliances
-New flooring throughout their main floor
-A new beverage station
